John Hawke
Born in 1955, I have always had a keen interest in drawing, painting and the environment. After completing a Foundation Course at West Sussex College of Design I trained as a teacher at King Alfred’s College, Winchester, where I took a B.Ed Honours degree in Art and Design. For the last 20 years I have taught in a Primary School in Thanet. I have now left teaching to devote my energies to my painting.

Over the years I have developed a strong interest in oil painting, but I also like paintng in water colours as well. My main focus is the landscape of Britain and in particular that of Kent but I also like painting; trains, boats, planes, people, animals, you name it .....

While accepting many commissions, I have regularly displayed my work at exhibitions in Kent. My work is currently on display at the Broadstairs Gallery, Broadstairs and the Nevill Gallery, Canterbury. If you would like to talk to me to arrange a purchase or discuss a commission, then I can be contacted by Email, at or telephone 01843 601536. I look forward to hearing from you.
