Beverley Peter Meyers

THE ARTIST:
Beverley was born in Zimbabwe and first studied with Dulcie Wessiek and Peter Birch, founders of the Salisbury School of Art. In the mid 60's Beverley came to London to continue his studies, at first working as a draughtsman, but for the last few decades he has been painting full time. Beverley's style derives much from the experiences of his native Africa and he returns there once a year to sketch and paint and renew his inspiration. Influenced by the primitive art forms of the people of this most beautiful country, the artist reflects this in his idiomatic use of an earthly palette, expansive composition and unrefined texture.
